Paleo Apple Crisp

  • 1 Cup (150 g) Almond Flour
  • 1 Cup (150 g) Finely Chopped Pecans
  • 3 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) Coconut Oil or Butter, Softened
  • 2-6 Tablespoons honey. Add more or less honey depending on how sweet you want the Crisp.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 Granny Smith Apples, cored and sliced (Leave skin on)
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • Add all ingredients to list

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Combine Flour, Pecans, 2 tsp cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, use a fork to combine coconut oil ( or butter), honey and vanilla. Mix into the four/pecan mixture.
  4. Scatter apple slices in a 9 inch baking dish or similar size dish, and combine with lemon juice. Stir in remaining cinnamon, and combine well.
  5. Spread the flour/pecan, mixture over the apple, cover with foil, and bake for 45 minutes or until apples are soft and bubbly.
  6. Remove Foil, and bake for 10-15 minutes more or until topping is golden brown.
